Soccer Anzacs run by Ian Syson Paul Mavroudis FootscrayParkBingo Yes. Apparently it was called Como because at the time the lake was lush and reminded someone of Lake Como in Italy. But by lowering the level of the river, the lake became an ugly swamp. So they decided to drain it completely prior to this photo around 1924 I think.
