Many thanks to all of the living historians and our friends at Stone Forge & Tissage who came out to our 18th-Century Military Encampment weekend this past Saturday and Sunday! We appreciate your willingness to teach the public about those who served during the 18th century.

Yesterday, students at Francis McClure Elementary School got a chance to not only learn more about colonial life in America, but got to dress up in their garb along with our Assistant Director of Education, David Swank. Thank you, Mrs. Richardson, for sharing these photos!

Our History Alive! interpreters taught some schoolkids about how camp followers did laundry for the army during the 18th century. We'll have another full laundry demonstration tomorrow! #HistoryAlive! is made possible through a #PreservingAmerica grant from @Americanacorner.

It wasn't the Hershey film, but we had cameras rolling here at the Fort today for some marketing footage! Thanks to two grants from Americana Corner and Rivers of Steel, we were able to have a film crew shooting B-roll and drone footage to be used for promoting our beloved fort.

It's Cheval de Frise Friday as Director of Preservation Eric Lebo and apprentice Cooper Campbell finish up working on a reproduction of one of these classic spiked defenses. This portable wooden defense would have been intended to fill in gaps in the fortifications of the fort.
