Stuart from SDWG getting a resounding applause from the room by reiterating that despite his diagnosis of #dementia, despite the losses he has encountered along the way, despite negative media portrayals, he is very much alive 👏 #AlzScot24

Marion Ritchie (NDCAN) & Stuart Dougall (SDWG) reminding me that having time to be involved in research projects is a luxury, and that our research methods must be beneficial for participants in the moment, enabling people to take part in things they love #alzscot24

What an amazing conference, executed as it should be with those with lived experience at it's heart. Showing that personhood is enabled by our responses to each other and our experiences are what makes us unique #AlzScot24

There can be many factors related to reduced eating & drinking in dementia. An over-stimulating environment, dentition, changed food preferences or even new appetite experience. It’s not always a swallowing disorder. Consider everything. #WithSLTuCan

If you find assistance is needed at mealtimes, place any cups or cutlery such as a fork or spoon in the person’s dominant hand. If you care for different people remember not everyone is right handed!
