“She was dying. If you said to her unless you eat, you will die. She’d [say] that’s fine I’d rather die than eat.” Jeff Stelling tells #TimesRadio it was an “amazingly difficult” task to find help for his daughter who was suffering from an eating disorder. @FifiGlover

The rejection of artistic realism in children's media is not studied; it's difficult enough to acknowledge overstimulation. But as literacy weakens and attention spans collapse, it is worth looking at what children themselves look at: the cartoon and CGI-ification of reality.

Will someone tell Fraser Nelson on Question Time that boys aren’t drifting into extreme misogyny because they’re raised by single mothers or because the only man in school is a janitor. Blaming women for male violence is misogyny.

Mental illnesses are real, and they are disabilities. Neurodivergence is real, and can be disabilities (both inherently and societally). They are not the same things, though they are linked. There's no "over-diagnosis crisis". There is no single "model" that works for all.

Happy publication day to Frances McKendrick, a debut novelist with a flair for witty prose and dialogue, a knack for gripping story-telling and – maybe most important of all – something hugely timely to tell us. We couldn’t recommend Words Fail Me more. eye-books.com/books/words-fa…

Brilliant idea for a novel from someone who knows her stuff : school counsellor meets with troubled students but the sessions take a dark turn. Can’t wait!
