🤖 Robotic assistance can reduce surgeon #ergonomic risk during #colorectalsurgery Really enjoyed presenting the VOLCANO trial at #ESCP2023 European Society of Coloproctology today. Getting surgeons thinking & talking about ergonomics is vital Society of Surgical Ergonomics Barrie Keeler Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT University of Buckingham Medical School
Fantastic work Frances Dixon & team, reporting results of the VOLCANO trial providing evidence of ergo benefits with certain MIS approaches to colorectal surgery 🌋 Rare treat to see “ergonomic” & “randomized trial” in the same title, bravo 👏 Paper👉 link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Great day filming the 7th Edition of Basic Surgical Skills KARL STORZ - UK The Royal College of Surgeons of England with @LondonVascSurg
Filming the Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) for the The Royal College of Surgeons of England. It’s going very well and looks amazing! Golden Globes here we come!
Dr. Frances Dixon presents the results of the VOLTAIRE randomized controlled trial to demonstrate the ergonomic benefit of robotics relative to lap on MSK parameters for inguinal hernia repair Frances Dixon #SSE24
Dr. Frances Dixon is back again presenting her work on designing a video to teach ergonomic principles during laparoscopic surgery which includes a helpful mnemonic STEPS -- 90% retention of info by participants Screen Table Equipment Posture Stance Frances Dixon #SSE2024
Thank you to Society of Surgical Ergonomics for this prize & for the opportunity to present our work on open console robotic ergonomics at the SSE symposium today #SSE24 Big thanks as always to my brilliant supervisor Barrie Keeler & all at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT University of Buckingham Medical School The University of Buckingham CMR Surgical
Super proud to have won Best Poster at ALSGBandI 2024 for the VOLTAIRE trial. Lots of discussion about the benefits of robotic hernia repair at this meeting (especially ergonomics!) Thank you once again to my supervisor Barrie Keeler & to Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT University of Buckingham Medical School CMR Surgical
Enjoyed presenting today at Robotic Abdominal Wall Surgery 2025 Thanks to Filip Muysoms for the invitation to talk about Versius hernia surgery at Milton Keynes & our research Barrie Keeler Any excuse to talk about my favourite topic - surgeon ergonomics! Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT University of Buckingham Medical School CMR Surgical
Thanks to AmJSurgery & Society of Surgical Ergonomics for publishing our ErgoEd trial on surgeon education to improve laparoscopic ergonomics. Education helps to mitigate risk but more needs to be done to make lap surgery safe & low risk for surgeons. Barrie Keeler
