If you ask : what is the value of the humanities? I would say that it teaches you to read with acuity, to analyse wild claims, to argue responsibly to questions to which there are no right answers. Do we need the humanities? Letโ€™s hear it for yes!!!

Great set of recent images of medieval stained glass salvaged in later times. Worth adding the one in Grately Church, Hampshire, salvaged from Salisbury Cathedral. John Piper knocked out by it, copied it and later became a leading stained glass designer

In North London last Sunday Joshua Ryan played his final voluntary before moving to a church in Greenwich. The choir had closed evensong with Naumannโ€™s โ€˜Dresden Amenโ€™ , which Wagner incorporated into Parsifal. The organ voluntary that followed was the full prelude to Parsifal!
