Isn’t it extremely bad form to sneer at an Irish person for attempting to speak his own language, one the British colonisers spent centuries trying to eradicate? Commendably on brand for you though. Visit hamascase.com if you want to actually engage with the arguments.

What happened to β€œIs fearr Gaeilge briste nΓ‘ BΓ©arla cliste”? I went to a unionist school in the north of Ireland where they’d teach you Japanese before they’d teach you how to pluralise β€œthank you” as Gaeilge. Just admit that you messed up with your elitist sneering and move on.

I co-founded the Learning Cooperative where we organised many Irish, Yiddish and Kurmanji courses. We also ran an event called β€œConfronting Israeli Apartheid in British courts.” I’d be happy to have a constructive dialogue with you about speaking Irish. I’m not afraid of how you feel.

I’m truly sorry that you feel afraid of what I said in Oct. 2023. If there’s something I can do to narrow the distance between us, I hope you’ll say, whether publicly or privately. Peace will only emerge if people who profoundly disagree have difficult, empathetic conversations.

My first sporting love will always be Gaelic football games at Mullaghbawn GAA, but you have to hand it the English: they knocked it out of the park with association football. As a Londoner, then, looking forward to this Arsenal game.

Today, I have left my heart in Gaza and taken my fragile body outside it. For 560 days, I have never stopped and have done over my energy to tell the truth and report our pain from my hometown. The story has come to a temporary end. I never ever imagined I would be at such an

Apparently Douglas Murray wants to β€œdeport, deport, deport” me (to Ireland? To Palestine? He doesn’t specify). I’d be very happy to have a respectful discussion with him about why he’s wrong to attack lawyers in this way, and why he’s wrong to oppose Hamas’ application.

Trying to improve my knowledge of the Armenian genocide. Grateful for any book and podcast recommendations, and especially any Marxist analysis.

Have finally got some time away from work. Catching up on reading, and revisiting this vital analysis. Solidarity with my trans friends and comrades everywhere.

Asylum lawyers and law nerds, a serious question: is "indiscriminate violence" (as defined in 15(c) Qualification Directive) also "persecution" (as defined in 1A Refugee Convention 1951) if it is part of a "genocide" (as defined in the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute)?

I’m very grateful to my friends and comrades in the International Association of Democratic Lawyers for releasing this solidarity statement. It reaffirms the core principle that lawyers must not be associated with their clients, something Robert Jenrick would do well to remember.
