This is part of the 10th-century monumental roadway from church to Doomster Hill!

Our own Annemarie Franz spotted an interesting parallel between this stone from Burghead, held at National Museums Scotland, and the Govan Warrior. Note the pointed beard, long hair, and most importantly, small, round shield held on shoulder straps on the left side of the body.
