It’s taken a long time, but it looks like Canada is finally committing 2% of GDP to defence spending. Is it smoke, mirrors or the truth? Fred DeLorey & perry tsergas are here with their thoughts. Listen on SiriusXM Canada Talks, podcast platforms & YouTube. 📺youtu.be/HzvP01Bhb_I

Packed youth soccer tourny in Orléans. Fields far from homes or businesses. No traffic blocked. But City of Ottawa bylaw is out here ticketing parents like it’s a revenue operation. This isn’t enforcement, it’s exploitation. (For the record, I’m legally parked.) Mark Sutcliffe

Yeah, it was disgusting. Bylaw worked in packs like they'd been planing this for a long time. No leeway, no commonsense. No traffic blocked, no homes nearby, and the road led only to another dead-end tournament field. Pure revenue hunting. Mark Sutcliffe

Canada hosts the G7, but as usual Trump steals the headlines - leaving early to handle the Middle East crisis from Washington. Does that matter? Bruce Anderson & Fred DeLorey are here with SMT. Listen on SiriusXM Canada Talks, podcast platforms & YouTube. 📺 youtu.be/FIwRyFrcCBo

I've written a brief, simple memo about how Conservatives can begin to rebuild, preserve the health of our movement in the long and short-term, and help us win the next election. The memo is available to anyone in caucus, OLO, or the Conservative Party that wants it.

Another great read from my colleague Greg MacNeil - one of Canada’s top GR minds. Smart take on why most governments peak in year one, and what the Carney team needs to do now to avoid the stall.

Looking forward to rejoining Peter Mansbridge and chantal hébert for GOOD TALK again this fall. I think the plan is also one podcast in each of July and August as well.

Huge congrats to my friend and business partner Bruce Anderson on being named to the Order of Canada. We come at politics from different angles, but working together these past few years, I’ve seen firsthand how smart, thoughtful, and truly deserving he is of this honour.

Fred DeLorey one of the best things about politics is finding that there are people who come at it from a different perspective and who you can like and admire, and that's been my experience with you as well Fred. Thanks for the kind words.

A huge plus one to this post. Congratulations to the indefatigable Bruce Anderson on this well-deserved honour!
