I'm looking forward to chairing the opening panel of Climate Action's Agri-Food Systems Summit at #COP29 - bringing together ministers from the Alliance of Champions for #FoodSystems Transformation to share achievements and discuss priorities for driving change.

Nice start this morning at #COP29Baku hearing from this fantastic group of policy makers about how they are aligning their climate adaptation and mitigation policies - and how NAP Global Network has helped them in their work.

A real pleasure to exchange perspectives with leaders from Bhutan, Sierra Leone, Chad and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) on nature-based solutions to climate change, and to share work of our Nature-Based Infrastructure Global Resource Centre.

I heard many calls for elimination of fossil fuels subsidies at #COP29, in particular from countries bearing the brunt of climate change and from civil society. This coalition aims to lead the way on phase out of these subsidies and IISD is honoured to serve as the secretariat.

While negotiators strive to reach an outcome on finance, ambition for action on climate change cannot be left to the side at #COP29. We need to build forward from the CoP28 commitments to energy transition.
