These are not just statistics. These are mothers, fathers, and children who have bravely undertaken perilous journeys. They are escaping crisis, conflict, and disaster. We must act now to save lives and offer safer, more dignified alternatives to those compelled to flee.

Together with Rana Utvikling (RU) and Osloregionen, we held a productive workshop this week to review the E-Course we are developing to support the integration of international migrant workers coming to 🇳🇴 🙏Forskningsparken for hosting us and to everyone who participated!

This week, we had the pleasure of meeting with our colleagues from the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority. We discussed our shared commitments to the protection of migrant workers and prevention of exploitation. We look forward to continued collaboration.

Last week, we visited Oslo's Gardermoen Airport and met with the East Police District to present on IOM's work in 🇳🇴 and on our global capacity in immigration and border management. We are grateful for the exchange and look forward to strengthening our collaboration!

Our second validation workshop for the E-Course supporting the integration of international migrant workers coming to 🇳🇴 was recently held in Mo i Rana, following the first session in Oslo. The E-Course launch is set for late 2025—stay tuned for more exciting updates!🤝

Last week, we had a productive exchange with the Ugandan Diaspora Association on key topics such as inclusion, language learning, and access to information. 🙏 to the Ugandan community for their valuable insights and shared commitment to inclusion!

We recently held our first Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) of 2025 in Timișoara, 🇷🇴, training 77 refugees preparing for resettlement in 🇳🇴. 🙏 to our partners IOM Romania and UNHCR România and to the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity for their continued support!

🤝 In our recent meeting with Human Trafficking Support Oslo (HTSO), we explored ways to strengthen our joint efforts against human trafficking, radicalization, and negative social control. We look forward to continued partnership in advancing protection and prevention efforts!

VARP trainings continued in Hå last week! Together with staff from Hå and Stavanger RCs, local partners, and colleagues from the Norwegian Directorate of immigration (UDI), we discussed ways to better support migrants considering voluntary return to their country of origin.

During our latest visit to Stavanger, our Chief of Mission met with local and regional partners to share insights into IOM’s work in Norway, including assisted voluntary return, resettlement, cultural orientation, and integration. 🙏to all partners for the valuable exchanges!

.IOM Norway & The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) 🇳🇴 are in 🇪🇹 this week to monitor & assess reintegration of returnees under the Voluntary Assisted Return & Reintegration Programme. Meetings with returnees, partners & IOM aim to enhance sustainable reintegration in 🇪🇹.

Joint monitoring missions like the recent visit to 🇪🇹 are key to strengthening reintegration under the Voluntary Assisted Return Programme. By engaging directly with returnees from 🇳🇴, we work alongside the 🇳🇴Directorate of Immigration to ensure safe and dignified assistance.
