I’m tired of seeing NHS propaganda promoting PAs as a solution to patient ACCESS. Patients deserve to see a GP if they’re booked in for a GP appointment. This charlatan isn’t even registered by the GMC . #patientsafety

Fixed it for you. The BMA is asking for pay restoration over a number of years. Even after doctors pay is restored, they will still start on less than their assistants already start on.

If I were an aspiring medical oncologist, I wouldn’t waste my money on this If a PA can also enter the course, then the qualification is worth diddly squat Pure money making scam

CT2s are senior doctors. They are usually post-Royal College exams. Medical IMT2s often act in MedReg roles. I know I did. In London, these MedReg equivalent doctors are paid less than newly qualified PAs who have neither medical qualifications nor training:

saddened to be told today off our very enthusiastic and brilliant F2 who is interested in ortho that only 6 of her cohort at our hospital have employment from August… something has gone very wrong

If they can't tell the difference between these things: Salaried GP vs Partner Salary vs Income How can we be sure that they know the difference between: SVT vs Anxiety PE vs Chest infection If all they have learned is cake, everything starts to look like dessert.

Top London hospitals, to where complex and vulnerable patients from all over the country are referred for care. Here, medically unqualified PAs are given permanent jobs, guaranteed pay progression, paid higher than doctors, for years. Why is this, Department of Health and Social Care and Wes Streeting?

Let me repeat this again: ST3 Doctors due to start the course in March were turned away and told to wait until September while PAs were allowed to start the course . PAs are doing this course right now whilst highly qualified drs have been rejected . The Royal College of Radiologists

This is not allowed btw. The FPA-RCP and RCP guidance said they are not allowed to use such misleading titles and must identify themselves distinctly/strictly as “PA”, and no other derivative. This is essentially stolen credibility.

Letter from GMC to AoMRC on Physician Associate/Anaesthesia Associate roles. Charlie Massey clearly supports the "extension" of clinical skills post-qualification. Why is the GMC so invested in expanding non-doctor roles? (💰?)

10years ago. Some people always knew As time has gone on the ridiculous disparity between pay and conditions of Drs and their Assistants has only gotten worse Vote YES for strikes Vote YES for FPR

James Steen So Portugal does not have a Physician Associate role. So Tim is advocating for people to have worse healthcare than the one he has chosen for himself. Tim doesn’t pay UK taxes, so he’s advocating for misuse of taxpayer money. On brand for a Brexiter who ran off to Europe.

@medicalmodelwithabriochebun The Royal College of Radiologists As a retired Clinical Oncologist I wish to state very clearly that this is not acceptable. Cancer patients deserve the best and safest care from a fully qualified doctor, not a quack.

Bethany Kelly, DSN, QN The Leng review The complicity of consultants is the thing that’s the most egregious. To sell out the next generation, to pull up the ladder - in a long career in the law, I met some awful people and a fair few who didn’t know what ethics and professionalism were - but this lot are the pits

If you are a consultant who has supported a PA to the detriment of a resident doctor - you are the most selfish of people - one who burns the path behind them so no one can reach the same destination
