Congrats to Duke University School of Medicine student Dana Rubenstein, MHS on her poster at last week's Duke Office of Physician-Scientist Development annual symposium. She presented her research w/Duke Psychiatry's Roger Vilardaga Viera, PhD & Dr. Joe McClernon on #tobaccouse inequities at the intersection of race/ethnicity & serious #mentalillness.

yesterday a colleague and dear friend from another faith told me about her fasts from specific foods. Another emailed me about her fasting traditions. And several emailed about how to support Muslim trainees and fasting. Truly a month of community! Especially Duke University School of Medicine

Don't miss Dean Mary E. Klotman, MD and our Dr. Julius Wilder MD PhD, MD, PhD, discussing the rising rate of colon cancer in young adults, and what Duke is doing to help turn around this trend. Julius Wilder MD PhD Duke GI youtube.com/watch?v=zX9wYs…

As I wrap up my 5th year of #primarycare practice, I can't help but reflect on the TEN "sparks" trainees may miss out on during residency that make this work so rewarding. A 🧵of #gratitude... CLOSLER Primary Care Chat @indupartha Adam Cifu Gabe Charbonneau, MD @GIMaPreceptor 0/11

Happy July 1st to the new trainees of Duke IM Residency and beyond. And a belated happy June 30th to all those who who worked so hard and learned so much through their training. Think of how much you know, how hard you’ve worked, how many lives you’ve touched.
