DCH’s State Office of Rural Health (SORH) administers the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant Program, which completed its eighth cohort of grant awards in FY24. A total of $7 million was awarded to eight hospitals to support healthcare access and operational improvements.

Emanuel Medical Center in Georgia is expanding its ER department thanks in part to grant funding provided by the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant Program. Expansion is expected to be completed in May. The grant program is administered by DCH’s State Office of Rural Health.
