2025 was a record breeding season for Lesser Spotted Woodpecker nests monitored by our volunteers. None failed & where we were able to check the nest contents the number of chicks fledged was the highest since we started the project in 2015. Full story woodpecker-network.org.uk

Bonaparte's Gull this morning at Oare marshes with sh4rpy waited 3 hours for it to show then it landed very close on mud to right of slipway,also 2 Whimbrel and a fly through Turtle Dove.

Some days just aren't meant to be, and today was one of them After missing the Temminck's Stint at Abberton,myself and Ian Bennell headed to Suffolk only to be the only people who didn't see the Black Stork!! But we did manage a nice Honey Buzzard. Hey ho!
