groundcontrolmag.com/i-wanna-be-lit… Random Acts of Medicine by Chris Worsham and Anupam Jena is written in a way that helps us gain a better understanding of the world around us and gives us the tools to improve our lives. One of the must-read books of the year.

groundcontrolmag.com/vinyl-vlog-609/ Wronger represents a new and fresh drink of water from Tommy Stinson , after an incredibly long dry spell. Hoping for more in the future would be nice but those who discover Wronger should be satisfied – this time, Stinson got it right.

Ducks is a good book. Of course it is because it’s a Kate Beaton book and her comics are better than 90% of the stuff that’s out there. It’s very relatable and teaches us about real life experiences. It just doesn’t seem to have a beginning or an end. groundcontrolmag.com/i-wanna-be-lit…

Head over to Ground Control Mag Vinyl Vlog #612 for a deeper look at the grooves pressed into the Free Rein To Passions LP by The Dirty Nil! groundcontrolmag.com/vinly-vlog-612/

groundcontrolmag.com/i-wanna-be-lit… Illegitimate Authority by #NoamChomsky gets a little repetitive at times, like with presenting the cause for the Ukrainian invasion and directions in which it could go, but this book is still highly informative and thought-provoking. Highly recommended.

groundcontrolmag.com/osees-live-roy… Simply put, Thee Oh Sees at the Sinclair was a room of pure energy. I’m an old man, but I was on the floor almost front and center right at ground zero. The band never turned off the action switch, so the crowd didn’t either.

groundcontrolmag.com/vinyl-vlog-618/ Albums this special don’t come very often and it’s reason enough to celebrate. Brutal Youth might have put out the best record of their career, but one thing is for sure, they have just set the bar for the best album of 2023.

groundcontrolmag.com/spotlight-come… My love for the band Snuff knows no bounds. They’re one of those bands from my formative punk years that have remained relevant and continued on an interesting path. This time, Snuff have reimagined their old songs in an acoustic more ballady format.

groundcontrolmag.com/vinyl-vlog-619/ Stepping back from it and taking the album as a whole, there’s no way to deny that Human Reaction has its flaws and would benefit from greater refinement, but its imperfection is the bait which promises to leave listeners hoping for more music from mssv.

groundcontrolmag.com/spotlight-inte… This time around these songs actually seem to belong together on an album instead of a random assembly of songs. Intercepted Message is the most interesting and engaging Thee Oh Sees has sounded in many years. A must-listen to synth-psych-punk-rock fans.

A future release will definitely require a strong-handed producer who is capable of refining the band’s fury, but that addition may prove to illustrate that Kirkby Kiss is capable of realizing something which actually tempers the sounds presented here groundcontrolmag.com/vinyl-vlog-621/

It’s great to have mary timony out there: one of the lifers promoting what’s sure to be one of the best albums of the year, with one of the best bands touring. It’s the first must-go-to tour of the year. groundcontrolmag.com/mary-timony-li…
