The Women's Library holds a short run of 'SHE' magazine from 1970-1973. Zuhra Karim (LSE alumna) started the magazine in Karachi in 1963. We'd like to locate copies of 'SHE' magazine from the 1960s for a project we're working on. Please get in touch if you can help.

This week we're working on the papers of life-long anti-nuclear activist Tony Southall. During UN International Year of Peace 1986, people from around the UK travelled to Scotland for 'October Peace Weekend', two days of non-violent direct action in protest of nuclear weapons.

Scottish Union of Students (predecessor to NUS Scotland) was founded to promote the common interests of its student members. This week we are carrying out some preservation work on the Union's records from the 1950s by removing rusty staples that are showing their age.

“Wow” was our reaction as we opened up Margaret Bishop’s boxes to discover these beautiful embroidery samples. Margaret made the work during her studies at GCU predecessor institution the Glasgow & West of Scotland College of #DomesticScience in the 1940s.

'Shopping at the Co-op' (1985) is an eye-catching picture book aimed at children. It uses the example of familiar Co-op shops and societies to simply explain the workings of co-operative #SocialEnterprises. From our Thomas Carberry Collection. #CoopFortnight

Today's visitors were so impressed by the story of the #WW2 #Dday flag made by students and staff of the "Dough School" that they came to see it in person. They were delighted to find it had survived albeit a bit battle-worn. Read more about the flag: caledonianblogs.net/library/2019/0…
