We stand in solidarity with UConn grad workers, our siblings in UConn GEU-UAW 6950, who start bargaining a successor contract. Their president is New York University alum Grace Easterly, and we couldn't be prouder. (Here's us with her at the UAW Region 9A summer school a few months ago.)

Last week, our Bargaining Committee kicked off our first bargaining session of the semester! We’re proud to have such a strong, interdisciplinary team at the table, fighting for a fair contract that reflects the value of ALL our members. Stay tuned - we’re just getting started!

Last week, we held our annual Ice Cream Social to celebrate both the start of the semester and the beginning of bargaining! It was sweet to see so many GAs and Postdocs come out and connect!

Before the union, we had no guaranteed health care, no paid parental leave, and no real job security. Because we organized, we won rights and protections that transformed our lives as graduate workers! We’re not going back!

Meet Our Bargaining Committee! Grace started organizing with the union her first year as a PhD student because she was inspired to see what a difference a union could make for GAs and Postdocs at UConn. Since then, she has been a steward, staff organizer, and now our president!

Bargaining Session Round Two! We are carrying the energy from our kickoff rally into our next bargaining session this Monday! Show your union pride by wearing your union T-shirt on Monday and stop by Fairfield Way from 9–11 AM for coffee and pastries to start the day strong!
