Just attended a great gut health advisory meeting by NutriQuest in Minnesota. Discussed innovative ways to improve gut health and barrier function in calves and pigs. #guthealth #calfhealth #pighealth #Nutriquest

Yesterday was a phenomenal experience presenting our research on mast cells at the Mayo Clinic! Honored for the invitation and opportunity to meet with world-renowned @MayoGIHep researchers, clinician scientists and trainees. #mastcells MSU Veterinary Medicine #gutbrainaxis Moeser GI Stress Lab

"Metabolic switch behind #mastcell regranulation uncovered! Exciting new findings from my former mentor's lab at Duke University published in Cell Reports. Discover the unique & cool world of mast cells: bit.ly/3YlzKSR #inspiredbymentors

The prevalence of early life adversity (ELA) is alarmingly high with enduring negative immune health outcomes. bit.ly/3IIZB1z. This is a focus of Moeser GI Stress Lab research, exploring how ELA shapes health outcomes in people and animals. #earlylifeadversity

Excited to share that Robison Lab at MSU & Moeser GI Stress Lab received a $2M+ R01 grant from NIH for our #mastcells & ΔFosB research! Read about how a chance encounter at a distillery led to this interdisciplinary collaborative research with huge potential. bit.ly/3lPkgZ4

#MastCellMonday: Did you know? Mast cells, Moeser GI Stress Lab's favorite cell type, were first discovered by Paul Ehrlich in 1877. He observed their granules and named them "Mastzellen," which means "well-fed cells" in German. #MastCells

#TriviaTuesday: Mast cells are key players in anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that was uncovered in 1902 by Richet and Portier. Richet got the Nobel Prize for it! Today, Moeser GI Stress Lab research seeks a cure for anaphylaxis and mast cell diseases. #MastCells MSU Veterinary Medicine

New review by Rinne et al. (2023): how early life stress affects maternal-fetal health. Related to Moeser GI Stress Lab's NIH and USDA-funded research exploring the link between early life stress and lifetime health in humans and animals. #EarlyLifeStress bit.ly/3HfLAHC

Proud of my colleague and collaborator Geoffroy Laumet for his groundbreaking research on how monocytes regulate pain resolution differently in males and females. He is a leader in the field of pain research and a great colleague. #painresearch #MSU

"Mast cells: small but mighty! Moeser GI Stress Lab is exploring their unsung roles in stress responses and neuroimmune development in people and animals. #MoreThanAllergies MSU Veterinary Medicine"
