Grossmont HS math teacher Kristen LoPrell is a SD County Teacher of the Year! A colleague said Ms. LoPrell has inspired “confidence and enthusiasm for learning in even the most reluctant learners.” She will now represent San Diego County in the CA Teacher of the Year program.

Congrats ELITE Academy teacher Coleen Topper for winning a California Casualty Music and Arts Grant! The grant supports a music therapy program for students with moderate to severe disabilities that engages and “calms students who have anxiety and behavioral issues,” said Topper.

El Capitan High School’s Agriculture Program has been honored as the “Outstanding Southern Region Program” by CATA. El Capitan was selected for recognition from a field of 70 high school agriculture programs across Southern California.

GUHSD’s Patient Care Pipeline, supported by Grossmont Healthcare District, won a CSBA’s #GoldenBellAward! The program provides instruction, language support, work-based learning, and CNA certification to prepare multilingual students for careers in healthcare.
