Culture is built through influence. Influence is built through relationship. Relationship is built through trust. Trust is built through connection. If you want better culture, start by learning to connect with your people.

Marcus Smart talking about not opening the hips on defense - one of the most important skills + giving space while maintaining angle. Nothing better than a great defender talking about defense. Here are the highlights from this 18 minute discussion, courtesy (Ryan Razooky)

HOW TO BE MENTALLY STRONG 1. Don't fear alone time. 2. Don't dwell on the past. 3. Don't feel the world owes you. 4. Don't expect immediate results. 5. Don't worry about pleasing everyone.

Facts The point guards that kill your Team 1. Score first mindset ( but can’t really score ) 2. Cool over competitive. 3. Treat dribbles like you get paid by how many you take. 4. Last one back when they miss, turn it over or mad at a non call. 5. Deliver the ball late.

Parents , it’s okay to push your kids to play hard and give consistent effort. It’s okay to expect them to have good body language and to not show negativity to teammates, opponents, coaches or referees. It’s okay to want to see them compete. Encouragements go a LONG WAY !

COACHES: Every single day you have to fight for the culture that you want. You have to compete for the hearts and minds of your players. You have to intentionally inspire those that you lead. It's not always easy but it will always be worth the effort.
