When sheets of rain descended upon Oakmont Sunday afternoon and an army of groundskeepers started taking squeegees and towels to the fairways, a tumultuous finish and bizarre turn became inevitable at this U.S. Open. It ended with J.J. Spaun on top. nytimes.com/athletic/64279…

Took a walk into the Oakmont parking lot with Adam Scott last night. Yes, the guy has had a lovely career. Yes, he's made loads of money. Yes, he looks like Adam Scott. But this wait of his? The long one? Since 2013? For that second major? Ain't easy. nytimes.com/athletic/64283…

What a win for Minjee. Not very many active LPGA players out there with more than two majors on the resume. We love to see it.

earlier this year, at Pebble Beach, I had to stop writing to watch Art and Liz work through a Thursday Sepp Straka column in front of me. It was incredible. “He doesn’t know any other way.” Awesome work from Brendan.

"Art found golf. Golf found Art." If there's one thing you read this week, let it be this. Masterpiece by Brendan Quinn on the great Art Spander, who just covered his 183rd major championship.
