P6 & P7 have been enjoying the last few days becoming familiar with our temporary learning space. Miss Brown and Mrs McKinstray are so proud of how resilient all the learners have been. Mrs Reay looks to be enjoying herself too 😀

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

What an excellent SG Factor we have had over the last 2 days. Well done to all of our acts! In 3rd Place we had a singing duo from P7, in joint second we had a dance act from P4 and a singer and dancer from P1. Our winning act from P6 sang Defying Gravity beautifully 🎤

Wishing all our families, staff, community friends, neighbours and benefactors a very happy and blessed Christmas. 🙏🏻🎄🎅🏻

P6&7 have enjoyed some Scottish Country Dancing this afternoon. We even mixed it up a bit by dancing traditional dances to modern songs 💃🕺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This week we welcomed the Maxwell Street Quartet into St Gabriel’s and our P4 to P7 classes have enjoyed experiencing and learning about the instruments of a string quartet.

Tyne House were enjoying winning the extra playtime this term with a silent disco! 🪩

Today Louise from Sustrans is in school working on scooter skills with the children. P5 are practising their pivot skills on the scooters.

P6 enjoyed a challenge this afternoon to support our understanding of thinking about what we say and the impact. We learned through this challenge that you can’t take back what has been said, just like we couldn’t put the toothpaste back in the tube

Thank you to the wonderful team from ELothianOutdoorLearn for supporting P6 through their Bikeability sessions this week. The improvement in the children’s skills and confidence is incredible and we are all very proud of every person who participated across both days 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️#bikeability
