I found this illustration around ableism and it got me thinking about it in an SLCN context. In society there is an emphasis on fixing ‘problems’…Much of our job as SLTs is working on functional ways to remove barriers. We need to raise awareness of ableism in society too!

francesca beard Isabella In our latest study with Dr Pauline Frizelle, Mollie Gadd Dr Lucy Hughes SLT, Dr Samuel Calder & others, we have been looking in much more detail at what actually happens in therapy sessions, looking at dose for language. It seems the total number of doses is the most important factor.
