It's publication day for my book, Fortress Power (U of MN Press). The book is about the weaponization of the built environment, from the early modern bastion fortress to present-day border landscapes and privatized cities. upress.umn.edu/9781517917937/…

Not sure how much use this will be but: I'll be moving to London this September for my MA, so I'm looking for — preferably well-paying — part-time football work, whether that's on-location or remote/semi-remote.

While at BISA - British International Studies Association last month, I had the great pleasure of being on a roundtable on the political economy of organised violence, where I talked about drones. SPERI @SPERIshefuni.bsky.social has produced that conversation as a podcast, which is now podcast of the week at The Syllabus! Listen here 👇
