During WWII the great Glenn Miller described the RCAF Streamliners as "the best band in Europeā¦other than mineā. High Level Domestic sector at Gander ATC c.1976. Radar was mainly used for climbing/descending aircraft using scan converted radar information onto a CRT. BOAC , now BA, has been an important part of Gander's history since the end of WWII with the opening here of an ops office & maintenance facility. The image shows the last British Airways B747 G-BYGB to use Gander airport for servicing c.2020. Tks Briggs Aero
