Today our Nat 5 Geography classroom looked like this 🌱 Learning about how rural businesses develop, farming can be a driver for carbon reduction & hungry families can be fed. A real reminder how many vital jobs in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 are underpinned by the principles they learn in 🌍 classes!

From Gairloch High School to Antarctica via the UK Polar Network! S1 have been learning about the Antarctic Treaty and what makes the continent a special place ❄️🐧 They designed this flag combining lots of ideas from across the class & the next time they see it it will be in Antarctica!

Formal and informal negotiations, surprising alliances, controversy, speeches and protests all featured today and inspired such excellent discussion and passion in our group!

Always amazing to see how our S3 group engage with charities and develop confidence during YPI Scotland Delighted to see them be able to hand over money to a local cause!

Our N5 Music Technology class had a fabulous day exploring MFR, led by the brilliant engineer Malcolm Lee! Thank you to Malcom who allowed our pupils to work with some of the cutting-edge technology that powers MFR. & thanks to Neil DYWWestHighland for organising.

Friday saw our Hockey team travel to Plockton to play Portree High School in some friendly games and provide a chance to link up with other clubs in the west. Thanks to HLHActiveSchools at both ends for organising!

Interhouse rowing competition today saw Tollaidh 💛 get an early lead, but later losing it to Kerry 💙 who maintained first place right to the finish, taking the title. Maree ❤️ gained huge ground to finish in 2nd! What an atmosphere, a highlight of the year for many!

James & Darren from BEAR NW Trunk Roads Bridges team were at Gairloch High School today. First they gave valuable industry feedback to our Powering Futures group and then delivered a civil engineering & pathways workshop to the team & our Higher Engineering pupils. Thanks for contributing!
