They had me at "billigt" (cheap). The huge west German fat lava jug was a no brainer, but I was over the moon when I discovered a small Chinese longquan celadon pot hiding behind it, nearly 1000 years old from the Song/Yuan dynasty. Chalk and cheese, but as promised, both cheap!

From a stall full of vintage clothes came this charming soapstone sculpture from Canada's frozen north. Signed, but I needed the Inuktitut syllabic chart to decipher the name- Isa Aupalukta ᐊᐃᓴ ᐊᐅᐸᓗᑕ Born 1942, an artist with quite the pedigree, it appears. Happy days☺️

⭐ find, by Fujiwara Yu (1932-2001), designated Japanese Living National Treasure in 1996. He was a master of Bizen ware, a type of stoneware known for its rustic aesthetic and unique effects that follows the principles of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection and ageing.

Even the dog approves!😃 1960s pewter cufflinks by Guy Gilles Vidal, Canadian sculptor and designer, and proponent of brutalism in art. Not very well known outside of Canada, so keep an eye out for his wearable artwork in amongst the costume jewellery pile!

Not quite in the same league as Baccarat's most famous camel, but a Baccarat nonetheless. Don't look a gift camel in the mouth!

Not everyday you bump into an artifact (purporting to be) from the Italian renaissance. Not everyday you see me dash to the cash to happily pay for something either! #maiolica

An ordinary looking vase, drilled and turned into a lamp; bought on a hunch, because of its rather special hue of blue. Is it or isn't it what I think (hope) it is? I'll need to disassemble the lamp and inspect the foot rim. More later🤞🤞🤞
