We found this driver speeding at 120km/h in a 60km/h zone while we were carrying out speed checks in Donadea,Kildare over the Bank Holiday. We stopped them and it was found that they were a learner who had no insurance or tax for nine years. They were arrested. Court to follow.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: Due to a traffic collision, the N15 has been closed at Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. Delays are expected if travelling in the area.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending a road traffic collision on the M1 Northbound between Junctions 10 and 11. Both lanes are closed with diversions in place.

We carried out a Multi-Agency checkpoint with the RSA Ireland and the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council yesterday in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin. During the course of the checkpoint eleven HGVs were examined and six major defects were found, while one driver was issued a FCPN for not wearing their seatbelt.

We stopped this motorcycle while carrying out a checkpoint in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary this Sunday. It was found that the driver had been disqualified from driving. They were arrested and their motorcycle was seized. Court to follow. #SaferRoads

This driver was so distracted by their phone that they completely ignored a stop sign and nearly hit the side of our very visible patrol car. They were stopped and they were issued FCPN. Please think of other road users and do not use your phone while driving. #SaferRoads

Our Roads Policing Unit in Dublin pulled this motorcyclist today. The driver had no license for the motorbike they were riding. The motorbike itself had no insurance and tax. The bike was seized and court is to follow for the rider.

We were on patrol on the N5 in Mayo last Thursday night when we caught this car travelling 193km/h in a 100km/h area. They were stopped and the driver now has a court appearance in the future, where they can explain themselves to a judge. #SaferRoads

We were on patrol between Loughrea and Portumna when we spotted this car driving towards us. They were stopped and it was found that they had damaged windscreen, four bald tyres, no tax, NCT or insurance. The car was seized and a FCPN was issued. Court to follow. #SaferRoads

We were on patrol near Clifden, Co. Galway when we stopped this car to carry out a test of its window tint. The driver then proceeded to test positive for cannabis. They were arrested. Proceedings to follow. #SaferRoads

We were attending court in Nenagh this morning when we came across this car heading to court as well. They were stopped and it was found that the driver had no licence or insurance. The car was seized and the driver now has another day in court. #SaferRoads
