This is a size 10 blade, it costs around 50p. When no one is able to intubate you and you are potentially about to die, it will be used by an Anaesthetic consultant (£45-£50 per hour) to save your life. The blade without the expert is useless. STAFF PAY IS FRONTLINE CARE

The replies to this are baffling. I think we were told in every single intro for clinical placement to be kind to the staff, bribe them with food, don't get on the wrong side of them or your life will be difficult, no sign offs etcetc This has continued into working life.

We rotated days ago. I've heard of several incidents (nationally) already where inductions contained instructions to suck up and be nice to other hospital staff groups otherwise life will be hell. I really wish consultants would challenge this rather than perpetuate it...
