30 years ago today I stepped through the door Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service and joined WR66. What a journey it’s been so far. The best job, working with fantastic people across the Service (past and present), our partners and our communities. Couldn’t have done it without all your support 🚒🙏


A superb day, 40th anniversary of the event and I was honoured be invited to represent Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service and take the Fire Brigade Bands salute at the closing of the day. 🙏👏

Fantastic first day UKRO Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and great to see and support teams from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service compete in the event. Huge shout out to our amazing fire control operators who are dealing with an unprecedented number of 999 calls. We normally take about 100 calls; today we have taken over 1500 not counting calls taken on our behalf by colleagues in Leicestershire Fire Control & London Fire Brigade Control #StormBabet

Yesterday was my last working day Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service after over 31 years and the last 5 1/2 as CFO. It’s been a fantastic journey and experience, an honour and privilege to have worked in the sector and Service, alongside Derbyshire Police East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust and others. Will miss you all 🚒
