Mycobacterium abscessus (Mabs) is often found in the cystic fibrosis (CF) lung, where it forms biofilms. Exogenous heme alters Mabs biofilms by preventing formation of a submerged film and promoting the growth of unattached aggregates. Microbiology Spectrum: asm.social/2fM
