This is the oldest illustration showing Krishna as an adult engaging in the playful act of taking the gopis' clothes. Note: Krishna was just around 6 years old during this episode. Is this what an 8-year-old appears like to you? Artwork: Page from the "Isarda" Bhagavata Purana

Alexander Cunningham, the pioneer behind Archaeological Survey of India, kept the Harappan findings under wraps for many years. John Marshall, who succeeded him, similarly kept it obscured for a period. In what ways do you believe the ASI's current approach contrasts with that of its earlier leaders?

Durga vanquishing Mahisasura, a scene from 7th century Alampur, Telangana. It's interesting that post-8th century CE, Mahishasura is portrayed as a man masquerading as a buffalo. Our forebears hinted at the danger, and it seems we might have overlooked it. #Archaeology
