Wondering why my “for you” tab on twitter is just packed full of the most completely uneducated right-wing socio-political opinions. Is it engagement baiting? Makes me wish for a different type of social media.

Massively under-reported science story because there's so much going on right now but...it turns out that we might have figured out what's causing this very scary spike. Quick thread, on how WE'VE BEEN ACCIDENTALLY GEOENGINEERING FOR DECADES...but then we stopped:

I absolutely cannot believe Apple is marketing this as a feature after nic nguyen and I have done multiple The Wall Street Journal stories and videos about how this very feature is being used by iPhone thieves across the country to permanently lock victims out of their Apple accounts. This feature

In Iceland currently, staying close to the town of Vogar, around 10-20km north of the possible site of a volcanic eruption. Watching things develop and feeling exceptionally sad for the people of Grindavík, I was there on Christmas Day last year - it's a wonderful town.
