In general, I'm not a huge fan of the machine read, but this one was spot on. Inferior infarct where STE in III>II, think RV infarct. Add STE in V1 and ST depression in V2 and this is highly suggestive of RV involvement. @OSUEMEdu

Dickman, Kang, Tayal- Top 10 POCUS of the Year #AIUM18 POCUS in Arrest. Does it compromise CPR? This article suggest yes but lots of room for improvement. 1- don't let ppl stay off chest > 10s, 2-have a protocol, 3- have a plan- countdown. scan/save, rvw …-nlm-nih-gov.proxy.lib.ohio-state.edu/pubmed/28754527

Interesting case of syncope. ECG shows RBBB, LPFB, and a prolonged PR, consistent with an incomplete trifascicular block. Can lead to intermittent or complete HB. Admitted for EP study -- left with a pacemaker. @OSUEMEdu

New IDSA C Diff guidelines. Metronidazole no longer first line, now 10 days of Vanc or Fidaxomicin. The $ cost of diarrhea just went way up. journalfeed.org/article-a-day/…

POCUS especially important in Rheumatoid Arthritis! If cardiopulmonary symptoms β†’ check heart & lungs. ↑ risk of ACS, heart failure, pleural/pericardial effusions, pulmonary HTN, PNA (all things US can help with!). Great segment on EM:RAP this month Rob Orman MD | Physician Coach Mel Herbert

It is kind of remarkable in light of the opioid crisis to look back at papers in the EMA database(emrap.org) about NSAID vs. opioids for renal colic (upcoming C3) and note that NSAID's are just as good or even better by 30 minutes! Opioids better in first 10-20 mins

Course afib with bradycardia or PAT with block. Either way, think Dig toxicity, especially when you can see the digitalis effect (downsloaping, slurred ST depressions with inverted or biphasic T-waves). @OSUEMEdu
