Opportunity to visit some of our old haunts while in SoCal for #ASMicrobe. Great to see that two of our favorite restaurants in Monterey Park are still open nearly 40 years later and the food is just as good as we remembered despite new owners.

We saw that another Titan arum "corpse flower" at MO Botanical Garden could bloom in the near future so took a trip to check it out. Not blooming yet but always nice to visit the gardens even when it is sweltering hot.

Third time's the charm. The corpse flower at MO Botanical Garden started to bloom so hopped in the car for a late night showing to finally get to check it out in all its glory. A bit smaller than most, but "Desi" did not disappoint. Thanks to the Garden staff for making this possible.

Had fun doing an #AgarArt session for a colleague's summer camp. Made a jumbo plate version of their camp logo. Turned out pretty well if I say so myself. Also made #Bactographs of their mission patches. I'll post their work after my conference. Missouri S&T ASM
