This is exciting: The Flying Steps, break dance from the streets of Berlin, thrill youngsters in the U.S. - and talk about social media. See the video for a recap of the tour.

Sincere congratulations to President-elect Donald #Trump. The American people have voted, and Germany stands ready to work closely together with the new administration.

Chancellor Scholz spoke to President-elect Donald J. Trump over the phone and congratulated him on his election win. Constructive first conversation about the issues ahead. A good start for our future U.S.-German cooperation.

We’re going through a period of transition on both sides of the Atlantic. It’s in these moments of flux that institutions like the American-German Institute play a particularly important role – as a bulwark of US-German relations, but also a forum for convening, a generator of ideas. Thank you!

Still in NYC, still reflecting on moments of transition and celebrating institutions that fuel US-German relations. Last night, I joined American Council on Germany in honoring @EvanGershkovich and Lufthansa’s Carsten Spohr. My message: this moment is a call to action. Let’s get to work.

It was a pleasure hosting the Berliner Philharmoniker at my residence. Looking forward to their concert at the Kennedy Center tomorrow.

Great honor to welcome Berliner Philharmoniker at the Kennedy Center. Outstanding performance of this great German Orchestra. The audience was blown away. New York, Boston, Ann Arbor and Chicago will be their next stops.

In these turbulent times, it’s vital to highlight the deep cultural ties that unite the US and Europe. Our shared identity is a strength – one that is worth defending against those who seek to divide us from the outside. Great exchange with students AU School of International Service Transatlantic Policy Center 🇺🇦!

The The American Academy in Berlin is an outpost of American thought in Berlin that I have been lucky enough to visit many times. Tonight, I was pleased to host the Academy in DC to celebrate our shared commitment to strong transatlantic ties. 🇺🇸🇩🇪

Sapere Aude - Dare to know! German philosopher Immanuel Kant championed the power of knowledge and reason. 300 years on, his call for intellectual courage remains as relevant as ever. Tonight, we honored young thinkers exploring his ideas through an essay competition. Goethe-Institut Washington

Messiah from German born composer Händel is more than music. It’s a testament to resilience and creativity in turbulent times. Delving into its history with author Charles King and Philippa Hughes was a reminder of how art, born from adversity, can inspire hope across centuries.

Chancellor Merz facilitated virtual talks today with President Donald J. Trump Trump, Vice President JD Vance Vance, @ZelenskyUA and European leaders on #Ukraine. They’re a strong sign of our close and trusting cooperation with the US. And: There is great unity between the US and Europe on Friday’s talks in Alaska.

Germany will keep supporting Ukraine’s defense. Our latest contribution funds a package of US military equipment under the new NATO PURL mechanism, with up to $500 million.
