Today, UNFPA Uganda Representative Gift Malunga in a meeting with UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Director Lydia Zigomo hosted development partners where they discussed progress, challenges & opportunities to advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and future collaborations


The joint inter agency visit to Sauti 116 Helpline, Uganda was a collaborative effort consisting of Regional Directors and Country Representatives from UNFPA East and Southern Africa UNICEF ESARO UN Women, aligning United Nations initiatives with national development goals & priorities. Today UNFPA East and Southern Africa's Lydia Zigomo & I were honoured to meet Government of Uganda's Amos Lugoloobi. We discussed the vital role of quality data particularly census data, in planning, financing and resource mobilization to unlock the potential of Africa’s dynamic young population. #ARFSD11


Had a productive meeting with the British High Commissioner Lisa Chesney. We explored ways to deepen our partnership on sexual & reproductive health & rights, with a strong focus on family planning. Grateful for the engagement & looking forward to continued collaboration.

Today, UNFPA Uganda joins Government of Uganda & partners in Kiryandongo to mark #WorldRefugeeDay under the theme Solidarity & Inclusion through Local Solutions. UNFPA supports refugees especially women & girls with lifesaving #SRH & #GBV services as they rebuild their lives in safety.
