NWS has issued a HIGH WIND WATCH for Gilpin County - Saturday, December 2 at 1400 through December 3 at 1100. There will be NO OPEN BURNING from midnight December 2 through midnight December 3. Predicted winds of 30-50mph winds with gusts as high as 80mph.

Dec. 26, 2023 @ 9:30 p.m. Gipin County Sheriff's Office, Timberline Fire , Central City Fire, Black Hawk Fire & are working a structure fire at 2982 Douglas Mtn Rd. Unknown injuries at this time. One structure fully engulfed and has spread to few trees. Updates will be posted.

STRUCTURE FIRE UPDATE Dec 26, 2023 @ 1055 p.m. - Fire has not spread from original report of a few trees around the perimeter of the house. House is believed to be vacant but has not been confirmed. No known injuries at this time.
