Many congratulations @patrick_a_green and team Mongoose Project. "Collective defence and behavioural homogeneity during simulated territorial intrusions in banded mongooses (Mungos mungo)" Exeter Uni Behaviour CRAB dx.doi.org/10.1111/eth.13…
Interested in a post providing technical support at Glasgow University's field station (SCENE) working in some of Scotland's most beautiful habitats? Hannele Honkanen Colin Bean @SCENE Glasgow Fish Biology my.corehr.com/pls/uogrecruit…

Are you looking for a scientifically challenging job working with field ecologists in some of the most beautiful habitats Scotland has to offer? We need a field technician my.corehr.com/pls/uogrecruit… Glasgow Fish Biology @IBAHCM
Amazing work and video by @daphnecortese. The video will also be part of a #COP26 exhibit during the climate summit here in Glasgow. Suzanne Mills @r_beldade Tommy Norin @AmelieCrespel Glasgow Fish Biology

Super excited to share our opinion piece on the role of alternative splicing in adaptation and evolution in Trends in Ecology & Evolution. It was a super fun writing this with @jpverta and I have learned a lot in the process. authors.elsevier.com/a/1eE%7EKcZ3Wq… 1/5
Our new paper in PNASNews, led by @AmelieCrespel, showing that despite consistent phenotypic selection on growth, metabolism, & sociality, the genomic effects of simulated trawling vary strongly with fish population density: pnas.org/content/118/51… 1/6 European Research Council (ERC) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
New paper with great work by Davide Thambithurai, looking at selection on morphology by scaled down trap & trawl fishing. For both gears, vulnerable fish had shallower bodies: interesting given active and passive gears generally select on different phenotypes. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…
Our latest work looks at how simulated trawling and trapping can select on fish shape. Surprisingly, although differences exist, deeper fish which are perhaps in better condition are caught less often in both methods! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec… #fishsci Glasgow Fish Biology
Do you measure selection, heritability, or plasticity of metabolic rates? Neil Metcalfe and I are organising a session on the evolutionary significance of variation in metabolic rates SEB @sebiology.bsky.social 2022 (A10). We have funding to support ECR presenters, thanks to The Company of Biologists.
Fascinating new study comparing #collectivebehaviour in sardines and squid, using both field and lab work. #openaccess in Ecology and Evolution The limits of convergence in the collective behavior of competing marine taxa onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
PLEASE NOTE: Abstract submission for this SEB @sebiology.bsky.social metabolic scaling meeting has been extended to 30 April due to tech issue on webpage. Apologies, but gives a bit more time to get abstracts in or do the last of your experiment 😉 I'm so looking forward to hosting this meeting!
📢 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION HAS REOPENED for this SEB @sebiology.bsky.social metabolic scaling meeting after the website tech issue. Deadline is (still) 30 April, so please get your abstract in if you are interested in presenting. Registration is scheduled to open on Tuesday, 26 April. Please RT 🙏
