Our members at GFT will no longer handle products of companies like Coca-Cola who are complicit in the subjugation, displacement, and genocide of the Palestinian people. Their service boycott is part of a campaign calling on the GFT to become an apartheid-free zone.

I suspect many more small-to-medium hospitality owners will follow Val D’Oro in backing Reform, underlining once again the critical importance of an organised hospitality workforce. Our movement can no longer stick its head in the sand. We need greater resources + backing NOW.

It is inspiring to see yet another band of hospitality workers organise against precarity, poverty, and disgusting working conditions. Our members continue to lead the way in militant trade unionism - let their courage be an example to workers across Scotland.

From an interview with an organiser of the 1920 Kerr's cafe strike - thought to be the first cafe worker's strike in Britain. Even 100 years on "democratic" capitalism has failed to deliver a living wage or safe working conditions for workers in our industry. The fight goes on!

Just uncovered an incredible piece of lost history—photos of the 1920 Kerr's Café strikes, the first hospitality workers' strike in Britain. Organised by the National Federation of Women Workers, with Glasgow organiser Agnes Adam (right) leading.
