Thank you Global Ties Miami for visiting Kristi House and engaging in such a meaningful exchange with our team. The delegation's commitment to investigating and prosecuting human rights violations is invaluable, and we appreciate the opportunity to share our work and insights.







Our Director of Operations, Tamara Garcia, led a panel at the Global Ties U.S. National Meeting on “Maximizing Value: Effective Budgeting Without Compromising Program Quality,” sharing tips on cutting costs, prioritizing essentials, and building inclusive, high-impact budgets.


In March, the Japanese tourism delegation met the South Miami-Dade EDC at Schnebly Redland’s Winery to explore agritourism’s economic impact. Thanks to Geri Grimes-Lewis, Lisa Greer, Ebony Godfrey, Charles LaPradd, Schnebly Winery & Matthew for an amazing visit!


The Japanese Tourism delegation wrapped up their visit with a session at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau , exploring Miami’s tourism strategies—rural, cultural, eco, and more. Thank you to Rolando Aedo, Richard Gibbs & Ali Bibeau for their insights and support!


Japanese tourism participants enjoyed a lively evening at The Berry Farms —a family-run gem in the Redlands. With line dancing and rural charm, they experienced how agritourism brings “a piece of country to Miami” while building community and shared cultural moments.


Last month we had 10 Nicaraguan journalists explore sustainable media in exile. Thanks to Natalia Molano, Amanda Roberson & Ray Darnott from Media Hub of the Americas USA en Español at the Department of State for sharing media strategy, and to the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus for hosting us!




Alex & Alani were thrilled to join #UMiami’s International Week! Big thanks to the Council of Intl Students & Orgs for the warm invite to “Asia Night;” a vibrant celebration. Great to see Joshua Ho from Miami-Dade County Asian American Advisory Board there too. Shoutout to Veronika Khan & team!


Our Nicaraguan journalists toured Telemundo Center for a behind-the-scenes look at U.S. Hispanic media, meeting with the News team to discuss monetization, regional ads & programming. Huge thanks to Miguel Franco, Daniel, Wendy & the Telemundo team for the warm welcome!



In April, our European delegates visited FL State Senator Shevrin “Shev” Jones' office, meeting Legislative Aide Devan Vilfrard for an inspiring convo on policymaking, community engagement & leadership in Miami Gardens. Thanks to Sen. Jones & team for the warm welcome & insights!



In April, our Nicaraguan delegates met with WLRN Public Media's Sergio Bustos to discuss newsroom innovation, advocacy journalism, and supporting media in exile. Grateful to Sergio for his leadership in public media and commitment to editorial integrity.


In April, our Nicaraguan delegates met with Ana MarĂa Carrano of Factchequeado, who shared tools to fight Spanish-language misinformation through media literacy and community empowerment. Thank you, Ana MarĂa, for your leadership in fact-checking and informing Latino communities!
