.Camp Hill Athletics’ Dylan McInroy and Josie Sarff take you through how the Lions battled through a stiff test in Lancaster Mennonite to secure another district title.

Spent my first 22 years in Lancaster but never made my way to Crusader country. That changes tonight, as I’m looking live from Maley Field for a District 3 2A semifinal between Camp Hill Athletics (6-4) and LancCatholicFB (6-4). Kick at 7. Winner goes to the final.

TOUCHDOWN | AJ Serdar is running with vengeance. The Camp Hill Athletics bruiser pops some pads and bounces off a handful of missed tackles for a 25-yard burst. The Lions take the lead with the XP, on top of Lancaster Catholic 7-6 with 6:28 remaining in Q1.

END Q1 | LancCatholicFB 13, Camp Hill Athletics 7

HALF | LancCatholicFB 19, Camp Hill Athletics 7 Catholic appeared content to milk the final one minute, 38 seconds of the first half, running the rock three times before the horn. Camp Hill’s last two drives went 3-and-out.

END Q3 | LancCatholicFB 27, Camp Hill Athletics 7 Facing 4-and-9, Camp Hill can’t move the sticks, as Drew Branstetter’s pass to M.A. Scaringi is broken up at the goal line.

TOUCHDOWN | Drew Branstetter surely has the golden touch with his arm, but whose to say he isn’t fleet of foot as well. The Camp Hill Athletics gunslinger scampers 61 stripes to tighten the Lancaster Catholic lead to 27-14 with 8:33 to play.

TOUCHDOWN | With his helmet flying off all while landing in the triple-jump lane, Camp Hill Athletics’ Noah Doi hangs on for the 24-yard strike. Drew Branstetter connects, and Doi’s gutsy reception slices the Lancaster Catholic lead to 27-20 with 5:47 left. XP was blocked.

FINAL | LancCatholicFB 27, Camp Hill Athletics 20 The Lions marched to the LC 18, but a 4-and-2 pass falls incomplete, and one kneel lifts the Crusaders to victory in a District 3 2A semifinal. Heck of an effort and one heck of a season for Camp Hill.
