Standing before Congolese citizens in the diaspora, the Minister Delegate for the Diaspora and Francophonie warned that anyone who sympathizes with or joins the M23 is “betraying the country.” Such threats don’t come from a place of strength or patriotism, they come from fear.

And rather than confronting their failures, #Tshisekedi and his ministers are resorting to threats and propaganda, hoping fear will achieve what leadership has not.

For years, the Congolese people placed their hope in #Tshisekedi’s promise of change. Instead, they’ve received only more despair.

Under his rule, the #DRC has become a playground for mercenaries, genocidal forces, and armed groups that thrive under the government’s watchful neglect.

The country is drenched in blood, drone strikes rain down on civilians, and corruption flows unchecked from the top. The state’s institutions are hollow shells, its officials obsessed not with service, but with self-enrichment.

And while the people starve, those in power grow fatter, blaming everyone else for the chaos they themselves perpetuate. For the millions in the diaspora, Mbadu’s words are salt on an open wound.

Many of them long to return home, to contribute to rebuilding their country, to see peace restored. But how can they when Congo has been reduced to a battlefield of greed and incompetence?

When returning means facing insecurity, unemployment, and a government that treats any call for reform as treason? #Tshisekedi’s administration has made the #DRC unlivable for its people, and now it dares to threaten those who dare to dream of something better.

This regime has lost all moral authority. Its rhetoric of patriotism rings hollow against the backdrop of corruption, repression, and war crimes. Its diplomacy is built on deceit, its governance on fear.

And every time it opens its mouth to threaten instead of reconcile, it exposes itself further as what it truly is, a failed system clinging desperately to power, terrified of accountability and allergic to truth.

The Congolese people, at home and abroad, deserve better than this culture of intimidation. They deserve peace grounded in justice, leadership rooted in service, and a nation guided by truth, not tyranny. And no amount of threats from #Kinshasa will silence that call.
