This is an American tragedy. The damage to health care and clean energy will be generational. Reminds me of the old line (I think from Pat Moynihan), “in Washington, moderate Republicans are always there when you don’t need them.”

Washington is debating the most destructive legislation in a generation…but California does the opposite… a great investment in the future. And a BFD!

From California’s perspective, here’s some of what what will happen: - hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, will lose health care (majority of CA kids are on Medicaid) - clean energy/scientific and medical research that power our economy and improve people’s lives will shrink

I have been working in politics for almost 40 years. I am trying to think of a worse piece of legislation signed into law than the monstrosity the Republicans just passed. I’m coming up short. It’s the worst new law of my adult life.
