To rub salt into my wounds today, I got a cheeseburger at the stadium only to get back to my seat and discover it was a “plant” burger. Seriously. A plant burger. And then the second half happened.

I have been on about this for years. The NRL -specifically operations manager Nathan McGuirk- has done nothing to curb the scourge of trainers all over the field, blatantly coaching and guiding, as well as being a totally benefit free risk to interfering with a match. Idiots.

The major issue is not what he’s doing to the ball, it’s that he’s touching it at all. He’s a trainer & has no game role. Yet there he is, holding the centerpiece. No other world code is stupid enough to allow it & no other fanbase would tolerate it. There’s no gain, only risk

FFS! Don’t play the man, play the issue. It’s trainers on the field dummy. Just get them off the field. The NFL would never dream of it, nor would FIFA or UEFA. The only time trainers come on the field is when the referee says they can & lord help them if they touch the ball!
