Monitoring Fusarium and Black Head Mould in crops. Good news: low levels observed. Pink heads mean zero grain—measure severity by them. Not all Fusarium turns heads pink either! Use free FHB testing for retained seed, especially with pink heads.

We’re starting our volatilisation trial in the paddock, using PVC pipes and sponges to measure ammonia losses. Each week, we’ll swap out the sponges and send them off for analysis. Stay tuned!

We completed our first ryegrass counts at our wheat pre-emergent trial: untreated control had 96 plants/m², while Treatment F reduced it to 4 plants/m². More details soon—contact your Gorst rural agronomist for info!
