NY Governor Kathy Hochul has enacted a sweeping package of policies aimed at supporting working families — including a substantial middle-class tax cut, an expansion of the state’s child tax credit, and free school meals for all public school students.

Seems like New York’s GOP needs a reminder:

New Yorkers paid as much as $72 billion more in federal taxes because New York’s GOP caved and lost the full SALT deduction in 2017. Looks like they caved again. Their promise of full repeal is just more roadkill on their highway of broken promises. Pathetic.

While you were asleep, Republicans in Congress pushed through a budget that wipes out health care for an estimated 1.5 million New Yorkers — while failing to fully repeal the SALT cap.  New York Republicans, where the hell were you?

Because of my historic housing plan, we’re converting underused office space at 5 Times Square into 1,250 new homes, including over 300 affordable units! The only way to solve the housing crisis is to build more housing and that's exactly what we're doing.

From groceries to childcare, I know the costs add up when you’re raising kids. That’s why I fought to expand New York’s child tax credit. And we got it done. It’s more money back in your pockets — up to $1,000 per child for millions of families.

How do you solve New York's housing crisis? Build. More. Housing.  Since I took office, 350,000 new homes have been built, preserved, or unlocked — giving hardworking New Yorkers like Niya Newman a home to call their own.

Out of an abundance of caution, I have directed State Police to increase patrols at synagogues and other Jewish institutions following the horrific murders in D.C. New Yorkers should call 911 to report a crime and can report hate or bias incidents by calling 844-NO-2-HATE.

Our new BABY Benefit gives eligible parents a one-time payment of $1,800 they can use to ease the financial stress that can come along with a newborn.   As a mom, I know how expensive babies are. It’s why I fight to give New York families a little more money in their pockets.

I have been briefed on the incident in the Hudson River and we are monitoring the situation. I’m heartbroken about the loss of life and on behalf of all New Yorkers, we are keeping that worker’s family as well as all injured in our thoughts.
