It was a pleasure to join Kathryn Anne Edwards on this work. Her approach is critical for thinking about preparation for careers, not just the first job. Job placement is an important goal for subbac workforce dev programs, but shouldn’t be the whole goal.

Congratulations to Tom (he/they) for giving an informative and important interview with WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore about stigma, messaging, and equity in the monkeypox outbreak. Check out the interview here: wbaltv.com/amp/article/11…

It’s hard for me to believe that this study first began when Carrie Nieman, MD MPH began working with me as a resident. Seven years later, Carrie and her team have seen this project through to completion with the first hearing loss RCT ever published in JAMA in its 139 year history!

Research letter out today with Nicholas S Reed and Esther S. Oh on patient-centered care and hearing loss! cc: JHU Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health agsjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

New read by Nicholas S Reed Esther S. Oh & Grace Gahlon: - #HearingLoss is assoc'd with⬆️odds of perceiving ⬇️patient-centered care - When stratified by race, assoc only remained among minority participants - More work needed at the intersection of race & disability/hearing 👂
