Bray Harbour 🇮🇪 27/12/2024. Swan recce. 14 unringed, so planning ringing session. Plenty of Gulls. Rings from Wales, England, Isle of Man, a few from Lambay & one Dalkey Island. #TeamGull

The #GrandCanal in Dublin 🇮🇪 had 100's of #BlackHeadedGulls but no colour rings seen. A metal ringed one landed on a Lamp post & thankfully it had a Danish metal (as it can be read in a single photo). #TeamGull

The Great South Wall of the Liffey in Dublin 🇮🇪 is a great place to watch waders at low tide. Read quite a few coloured rings today ( including a Redshank). Only one of my CR HG present. #TeamGull

Finally cygnets hatching in Dublin 🇮🇪. Nesting late this year. Three nest were hatched on today's rounds. All parents are colour ringed. Grangecastle 4 cygnets. CDJD & CDLZ Parkwest 3 cygnets. CFHP & CFHS Tymon Spawell 5 cygnets. CCFF & CDKI

Mute Swan nest, Bushy Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 🇮🇪 has 5 cygnets. Locals told me they were out yesterday, but egg tooth gone from all, so 3 days+ probably. Can anyone give me an accurate hatching date? #BushyPark #Rathfarnham

Irelands Eye, Dublin 🇮🇪 Trip to the Island on Sunday ring reading gulls, but also recorded this "Ringed" Ringed Plover. 🤣🤣

#PoppintreePark Cygnets were out on the lake. Two had hatched last Sunday, but all 8 now hatched. Female obliged by showing her #ColourRing. The pen pulled up pond weed and a ball of fluff ensued as they ate it. Wonderful. Dublin City Council #DublinSwans 🇮🇪

A bit surprised this moorning as P29:D was only 20km from Lambay. This afternoon saw #HerringGull P91:D Tallaght Community School . Distance of 30km+ which is more normal dispersal distance. Last sighting was in Arklow, so it hasn't yet settled. #TeamGull

We ring quite a few #LesserBlackBackedGull but don't get many resightings back in Ireland. This one was ringed in 2023 in Clondalkin and in the heavy rain this evening was at Tallaght Community School. Only one record from 2023, seen in Cork on migration to Iberia or Africa. #TeamGull
